Torsion Springs

Northeast Spring designs and manufactures custom torsion springs for most Overhead Door, Industrial Hardware and a wide range of other applications.

Torsion springs are defined as a spring that works by torsion or twisting. The amount of torque it exerts is proportional to the amount it is twisted. As load is applied the spring diameter will decrease and will increase the spring length.

Torsion spring designs are typically wound in the direction of the coil winding. Normally torsion springs are used in designs around a shaft or mandrel to ensure location and stability.

Torsion springs for industrial applications:

• Have formed or straight ends.
• Require blue prints for exact capabilities.
